Sussex Mediation Alliance – the voice of Community Mediation in East and West Sussex
The Sussex Mediation Alliance is the joint voice for community mediation across East and West Sussex. It is supported by the two independent charitable community mediation services that operate across both counties and is the cross-county portal for all the latest news, research and developments in the world of mediation.
Our services are supported by a variety of different Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Charitable Trusts and the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, although we are entirely impartial and independent from all of these. Please click on the logos below to visit the websites of each of the services that are members of the alliance.
Our partner Sussex Mediation Alliance community mediation services are:
Brighton & Hove Mediation Service (including Lewes)
Since 1993 BHIMS, a registered charity, has worked with residents in the area of conflict resolution to build stronger more cohesive local communities.
We develop and share conflict resolution and communication tools to resolve current problems and reduce future conflicts.
Mediation Plus (East and West Sussex)
In 2023 Mediation + and Hastings and Rother Mediation Service came together to form ‘Mediation Plus’.
With over 25 years’ experience of providing confidential, impartial, and non-judgemental mediation, we aim to reduce conflict experienced by people at home, in the community and workplace.
We offer neighbourhood mediation, intergenerational mediation (between young people and their families) family mediation (for separating couples) and bespoke mediation services.
West Sussex Mediation Service (WSMS) closed on 31st March 2024. From 1st April 2024 Mediation Plus took responsibility for delivery in West Sussex, supported by WSMS staff and mediators who transferred over to the charity.
